I need to make a instrument for a project. HELP!!!?

Here’s the deal, I need to make a instrument for music class, it has to belong to one of the four music families, which are: woodwind, (Ex. flute, clarinet) brass, (Ex. Tuba, French horn) strings, (Ex. Viola, cello) or Percussion (Ex. Snare Drum, Triangle)
I need to make a unique instrument that looks nothing like one that is already created. I won’t do brass because I can’t go through the trouble of getting brass. Yes, there’s a $50.00 Gift Certificate at stake to the winning student. It HAS to be tuned, which means you can play a melody on it. I was thinking of doing a string instrument because I don’t want to go through the trouble of getting the materials for others. PLEASE HELP ME!!! Please give me some ideas to work on, thanks!
P.S The instrument needs a specific actuator, vibrator and a resonator.
I think you should make the instrument out of pottery that you blow into, but more creative. I made one before that was shaped like a turtle and I poked about 5 holes in it. It works because I could play simple melodies on there. So basically, you can shape the pottery any way you want to make it look interesting!
